The Great Escape II can comfortably accommodate up to seventeen guests. The spacious three-story lodge also has a kitchen and dining area that can host a small crowd, three covered decks so that everyone can enjoy the vibrant views and a game room that includes plenty of entertainment options for everyone.

The Great Escape II has five bedrooms—three upstairs, one on the main floor, and one downstairs—each of which has a luxurious king-size bed and a flat-panel TV. Three of the bedrooms have their own fireplace as well; as they warm up the room they’ll add a romantic glow to the luminous wood-planked walls and ceilings. What’s more, three of the bedrooms open directly onto a deck, so you can slip outside to catch the sunrise without waking up the others. There’s a full bathroom for each bedroom as well.

Additional guests can sleep in the living room and the game room: Each has a sofa that opens into a queen-size bed. And there’s a sleeping nook upstairs with a twin bunk bed that the kids will love.

Sleep might be the last thing on everyone’s mind, however, once you see the downstairs home theater and game room. Fifteen people can watch a movie on the home theater’s large screen, in comfortable cinema-style chairs. And the huge game room is chock-full of things to do: There’s a regulation-size pool table, a multi-game arcade, air hockey, pinball, a Golden Tee golf arcade game, and a large-screen flat-panel TV. You’ll never be bored at The Great Escape II! There’s even a pub table, should you prefer to play cards or simply enjoy a quiet chat with a friend.

One flight up is the main floor, home to yet another large flat-screen TV, as well as plenty of leather seating you’ll love sinking into. Even when you’re not watching TV—or warming yourself by the fireplace—the living room is an inviting spot to curl up with your laptop to surf the web or to get lost in a book.

Also on the main floor is the dining area, with a gleaming wood table that seats twelve people in handsome Windsor chairs. Another four people can tuck into their meal at the adjacent breakfast bar. On the other side of the bar is the roomy kitchen. Here you’ll find all the appliances, gadgets, cookware, and tableware you’ll need to feed the whole gang, along with plenty of counter space and elbow room.

Of course, you don’t come to the Smoky Mountains to spend all your time indoors, even if your cabin has all the amenities that The Great Escape II has. The lodge has more than 700 square feet of covered decks from which you can savor the fresh mountain breeze, the sight of the towering trees, and the singing of chickadees in the morning and whip-poor-wills at night. There are plenty of rockers where you can kick back with a book and a drink, as well as a deck swing: The kids will want to take turns on it throughout the day, while at night you and your special someone will relish the romance of swinging in the moonlight. The best seat of all, however, might be in the deck’s hot tub. Especially after a day spent hiking, skiing, or keeping up with the kids at Dollywood, the tub’s steamy jets of water will feel so rejuvenating.

Because The Great Escape II is located in the Gatlinburg Falls Resort, in the summer you’ll have free access to the outdoor pool. What’s more, the resort is close to everything the area has to offer. Downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Museum, thrill rides, an aquarium, shops, restaurants, and more, is only a few minutes away. So is the Great Smoky Mountains National, among numerous other attractions.

Whether you’re looking forward to being on the go or taking it easy, you’re certain to have a wonderful time at The Great Escape II. So book your stay today—after all, you deserve it!

Very roomy, comfortable, livable cabin for a large group (15+). Lots of parking and flat area outside and very easy access into the cabin. Great location--almost exactly located between Hwy 321 and Gatlinburg parkway. All 5 bedrooms have bathrooms. They have good size. One major advantage is large downstairs with a bedroom (queen bed), plus pull out sofabed. Air hockey, arcade game, nice pool table--everything was operable for the kids, and the hot tub was the most popular place of all. You may need to inquire about TV workability and channels. Kitchen, eating area, and den area is not massive (except table seats 14), but it works well even for large groups to cook, put out the food, eat, and congregate. Steep 3-story cabin with long drops but decks and construction in general seem very sturdy and safe. Views are decent (3-4 star), particularly up top. Located in attractive Gatlinburg Falls Resort. The road up to cabin is easy. It is not the newest cabin we've stayed in, but probably the one we liked best---ease of parking, access, location, roominess, amenities. Community pool is a pretty 4-foot-deep pool, not big, with a side baby pool and nice deck. Waterfall was not working, but pool was open (may also be another pool).. I would rent again and probably will.
